Day 01: – Arrival Delhi                                        

Welcome upon arrival at Delhi International airport. You will be assisted upon arrival and transferred to Hotel.

Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 02: – Delhi                          

Delhi is a city that bridges two different worlds. Old Delhi, once the capital of Islamic India, is a labyrinth of narrow lanes lined with crumbling havelis and formidable mosques. In contrast, the imperial city of New Delhi created by the British Raj is composed of spacious, tree-lined avenues and imposing government buildings. Delhi has been the seat of power for several rulers and many empires for about a millennium. Many a times the city was built, destroyed and then rebuilt here. Interestingly, a number of Delhi’s rulers played a dual role, first as destroyers and then as creators.

Today you will enjoy full day city tour of Old and New Delhi.

Humayun’s Tomb was the first Persian architecture building with surrounding gardens to come up during the Mughal era and marked the beginning of building large exquisite tombs for the erstwhile emperors. This gave birth to Indo-Islamic architecture which is dominant in the architecture of the Mughal era. Humayun’s tomb was build in the center of fours parts of a quadrilateral garden known as the Char Bagh Garden – it was the largest garden in Asia at the time covering an area of 30 acres. The tomb was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993

Qutub Minar a UNESCO World Heritage Site is the tallest minaret in India. Construction of Qutub Minar was started in 1192 by Qutub-ud-din Aibak, his successor Iltutmush added 3 more sections and Firoz Shah Tughlak added two more sections in 1368. The 72.5 meter tall minaret is built of red sandstone and marble, this victory tower was used as a watch tower. Qutub Minar was repaired by Firoz Shah Tughluq (Late 1300s) and Sikandar Lodi ( early 1500s). Qutub Minar was built on the ruins of Lal Kot or the Red Fortress, in the then city of Dillika – the capital of the last Hindu RulersTomars and Chauhans of Delhi. The 7 meter tall Iron Pillar in the Qutub Complex is an alloy made of many metals and has Sanskrit inscriptions in Brahmi script dating back to the 4th Century.

Visit the Lotus Temple, also called Bahai Temple (closed on all Monday). This distinctive lotus shaped marvel in marble is surrounded by a landscaped garden and is a symbol of peace. Similar in style to the Sydney opera house is this white marble and concrete structure in the shape of a lotus flower. This is the Asian headquarters of the Bahai faith.

India Gate (war memorial dedicated to the lives of laid down by the Indian soldiers), pas thru the president’s residence – Formerly the Viceroy’s Palace, parliament House and the Secretariat buildings, – an interesting blend of the Victorian and 20th century architecture. Then visit Raj Ghat, Set in the midst of deep green lawns, Rajghat is the place where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. A memorial to the father of the nation, Rajghat is a simple square platform with a black memorial stone with “Hey Ram” inscribed on it. Also visit Jama Masjid (Mosque) – which is the largest mosque in India.

 Day 03: – Delhi – Rishikesh

Morning you will be transferred to Rishikesh (240 Kms – Approx 6 Hours). En-route you will pass through Haridwar, one of the 7 holy cities of India. Hindu devotees come here from all part of India. No flesh and alcohol are allowed. Further drive to Rishikesh, where according to a legend Bharat lived, brother of God Rama.

Upon arrival at Rishikesh, check in at Hotel. Later walk through the city.  You will visit Laxman Jhula (hanging bridge) and different Hindu Temples.

 Day 04: – Rishikesh – Uttarkashi                                

Morning you will be transferred to Uttarkashi (170 Kms – Approx 05.30 Hours).

Your drive goes through the magnificent mountain landscapes. With arrival in Tehri you find yourself on the height of 770m. Tehri was the former capital of princely state Garhwal and not to forget the picturesque villages.

Upon arrival at Uttarkashi, Check in at Hotel

Day 05: – Uttarkashi – Gangotri                                 

 Morning you will be transferred to Gangotri (110 Kms – Approx 3 Hours). Drive via Bhatwari, Sukhi, Harsil to Gangotri. En-route there are some high passes to cross.

According to a legend river Ganga comes from the heaven at this place. The main temple was built by Amar Singh Thapa in 18. Century.  Rest of the day roam around the place. You see different Ashrams and observe the pilgrims during their ceremony in temples and their baths in the ice cold water of the holy river.

Day 06: – Gagontri – Bhojbasa                                                                                                                       

Today trek begins the wandering to the origin of Ganga (15 Kms Approx).

Upon arrival at Bhojabasa (situated at 3600m), check in at camp.

Overnight stay at Camp.

Day 07: – Bhojbasa – Gaumukh                                                                                                                     

Trek further to reach the origin of Ganga.

Upon arrival at Gaumukh, spend some time at the Glacier of Gaumukh which means “mouth of a cow”. It is believed that the tough road to Ganga origin prevents the Hindu devotee’s 1million rebirth. Here you see the pilgrims of every age filling their bottles with the holy water and taking baths in ice cold water.

Overnight stay at Camp.

Day 08: – Bhojbasa – Gangotri – Uttarkashi

Today return back to Gangotri.

 Finally drive to Uttarkashi. En-route stop at a hot water spring to take a bath.

Upon arrival at Uttarkashi, check in at Hotel.

 Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 09: – Uttarkashi – Guptakashi                                                                                    

Morning you will be transferred to Guptakashi (196 Kms – Approx 8 Hours). Drive through the wonderful mountain landscapes, rice fields , river valleys and beautiful villages. Upon arrival at Guptakashi, check in at Hotel.

Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 10: – Guptakashi                                                                                                   

The whole day you will spend on this 1300m high place , where you stroll through the gardens and visit small temples. Enjoy the panorama , the location is very wonderful.

Day 11: – Guptakashi – Badrinath                                                                           

Morning you will be transferred to Badrinath (201 Kms – Approx 08 Hours). Badrinath (3180 m) one of the 4 most holy pilgrimages of Hindus, surrounded by Nar and Narayan mountains. Upon arrival at Badrinath, check in at Hotel.

Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 12: – Badrinath                                                                          

The whole day you spend in Badrinath. If the weather allows , you see the impressive high mountains with snow covering hill tops. Each of them seems to be sky high.Early noon a small stoll to Neelkanth valley. The scenic beauty is worth seeing.Rest of the day is free for exploring the surroundings.

Day 13: – Badrinath – Govindghat – Ghangaria                                                                           

Morning you will be transferred to Govindghat (25 Kms – Approx 45 mins). From Govindghat to Ghangaria cover the distance by walking (19 Kms – Approx 5 Hours). En-route you can see many pilgrims Hindus and Sikhs moving towards holy Hem Kund Lake. Upon arrival at Ghangaria, check in at camp.

Day 14: – Excursion to Valley of Flowers

A short trek of 05 Kms to reach Valley of Flowers with an ascent of 600m. After crossing many small rivers you find yourself in the famous valley , which got its name from the Kamet-Expedition in 1931, as they discovered this valley during a snow storm. In every season many colourful flowers blossom here. The whole day you will spend here. For lunch you get lunch packets. The legend connects the Valley of Flowers with the Goddess Laxmi from the epic Ramayana : once Laxmi was sitting mediating at the bank of Lokpal lake. She was attacked by Meghana and got badly wounded. It was the Sanjivni Booti which healed her wounds.
There is also the grave of Margret Legge , who collected and cataloged the flowers in 1939.

Later return back to Ghangaria.

Day 15: – Ghangaria – Govindghat – Joshimath                                                                            

Morning trek to Govindghat (19 Kms Approx). After reaching Govindghat, further drive to Joshimath (20 Kms – Approx 01 Hour). Upon arrival at Joshimathm,

check in at Hotel.

Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 16: – Joshimath – Rishikesh

Morning you will be transferred to Rishikesh (300 Kms – Approx 09 Hours).

Upon arrival at Rishikesh, check in at Hotel.

Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 17: – Rishikesh – Delhi                                                                            

Morning you will be transferred back to Delhi (240 Kms – Approx 06 Hours).

Upon arrival at Delhi you will be assisted and transferred to Delhi international airport to board your onward flight.
