Day 01: – Arrival Srinagar            Dal Lake - kashmir

Welcome upon arrival at Srinagar International airport. You will be assisted upon arrival and transferred to Houseboats.

Srinagar is the summer capital of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies in the Kashmir Valley, on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus. The city is famous for its gardens, lakes and houseboats. It is also known for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts and dried fruits.

Late afternoon Shikara ride on Dal Lake and visit floating vegetable market.

Later witness Walnut Woodcarving and Paper Mache

Walnut Woodcarving Kashmir is home to some of the best walnut wood carving done anywhere in the world. The process of walnut wood carving is known as Dhun hath kaem (walnut wood work) or simply as Dhoon kaem (walnut work). The walnut wood carving of Kashmir employs a process of hand carving done very carefully and delicately in various styles depicting forms and motifs that have evolved over a period of centuries.

Paper Mache Kashmiri craft recycles waste paper into beautiful artifacts painted by expert craftsmen. The wonderfully vibrant hand painted motifs on the different types of items look illuminated as a result of the shiny varnish finish. Paper Mache (also spelled Papier Mache, Papier Machie) has a long and rich tradition in Kashmir, it is a delicate decorative art which shows the artistic zeal of a craftsman.

Day 02: – Srinagar                                                                                            

Morning sightseeing of Srinagar which includes Nishat Bagh (Abode of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love). All the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background.

Nishat Bagh is a terraced Mughal garden built on the eastern side of the Dal Lake, It is the second largest Mughal garden in the Kashmir Valley. The largest in size is the Shalimar Bagh, which is also located on the bank of the Dal Lake. ‘Nishat Bagh’ is Urdu, which means “Garden of Joy,” “Garden of Gladness” and “Garden of Delight.”

Shalimar Bagh is a Mughal garden linked through a channel to the northeast of Dal Lake, Its other names are Shalamar Garden, Shalamar Bagh, Farah Baksh and Faiz Baksh. The Bagh was built by Mughal Emperor Jahangir for his wife Nur Jahan, in 1619. The Bagh is considered the high point of Mughal horticulture.

Also visit Carpet-weaving factory.

 Day 03: – Srinagar – Gulmarg                                                                                                             

 Morning you will be transferred to Gulmarg (55 Kms – Approx 02 hours).

Gulmarg (“Meadow of Flowers”) is a town, a hill station, a popular skiing destination which is 2730 Mts. above sea level. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and highest golf course of the world. The town is within the Himalayas and is within miles of the Line of Control between India and Pakistan.

One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. One can also have a short trek upto Khilangmarg which can be covered in about 3 to 4 hrs.Upon arrival at Gulmarg, check in at hotel.Today you will enjoy cable car ride from Gulmarg to Gondola.

Day 04: – Gulmarg – Pahalgam                                                                                                          

Early morning you will be transferred to Pahalgam via Srinagar (140 Kms – Approx 04 hours) Drive through Saffron fields and also visit Awantipura ruins.

Awantipura Ruins  Awantipura is a small town situated on the right riverbanks of Jhelum and just between the Srinagar to Pahalgam road.The Awantipura Ruins reflects the devotion of Emperor Avantivarman [also spelled as Awantivarman], who ruled over the Jammu & Kashmir region during the 9th Century AD. He had the Shrine of Awantipura erected amidst the lush green valleys of Jammu & Kashmir, a definite place of utmost peace and tranquility for all devotees to enjoy the spiritual presence of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, who are also known as the two prime presiding deities of the Awantipura Temple.After your visit continue your drive towards Pahalgam.

Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds) Situated at the confluence of the streams flowing from Sheshnag Lake and the Lidder river, Pahalgam (2,130 m) was once a humble shepherd’s village with breathtaking views. Now it is Kashmir’s premier resort, cool even during the height of summer when the maximum temperature does not exceed 25 deg C.Upon arrival at Pahalgam, check in at hotel.

Day 05: – Pahalgam                                                                                                    

Today you will visit Betaab valley, Lidder valley and Mamaleshwara temple.

Betaab valley is situated at a distance of 15 kilometers from Pahalgam in Anantnag district in India’s northernmost state ofJammu and Kashmir. The valley got its name from the Sunny Deol-Amrita Singh hit debut film Betaab. The Valley is towards northeast of Pahalgam and falls between Pahalgam and Chandanwadi and is en route Amarnath Temple Yatra. The valley surrounded by lush green meadows, snow clad mountains and covered with dense vegetation.

Lidder valley is a Himalayan sub-valley that forms the northeastern corner of the Vale of Kashmir. The Lidder River flows down the valley. The entrance to the valley lies seven km northeast from Anantnag town. It is a 40-km-long gorge valley with an average width of 3 km.

Mamleshwara temple is one of the fascinating monuments which witness lot of tourists from the entire world. It is located at a distance of about a mile from Pahalgam. The Kolahoi stream flows nearby the Mamleshwar Temple. This beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who was also called as Mamalishwara. According to the religious tale in Hindu, Lord Ganesh was placed as doorkeeper. He was ordered not to allow anyone to enter inside the temple. This is due to this reason that the temple is also called as Mam Mal, which means “don’t go”. People used to come to visit this holy temple from far places too. Adjacent to this temple, one can find another temple which was adorned with gold in the early time of the kings.

Day 06: – Pahalgam – Srinagar                                                                                                           

Morning you will be transferred back to Srinagar (88 Kms- Approx 03 hours).Upon arrival at Srinagar, check in at Houseboat.Rest of the day free for own activities.

Day 07: – Excursion to Sonamarg                                                                                                     

Today you will enjoy excursion to Sonmarg (80 Kms- Approx 2.30 Hours).

Sonamarg or Sonmarg, located at a hefty altitude of 2,740 m above sea level, literally means ‘Meadow of Gold’. The picturesque natural beauty of the region brought this name to Sonamarg. Sonamarg, a town surrounded by breathtaking glaciers and serene lakes, is a snow covered beautiful flower-laden meadow in the majestic Himalayan mountain region. Sonamarg in the Kashmir valley is the gateway to Ladakh and situated just before the Zojii La pass. Located at 87 km from Srinagar, the place is renowned for trekking and hiking trails. The snow clad peaks in the Himalaya and the undulated hilly mountainous regions are perfectly suitable for all types of trekking expeditions. Sonamarg is the base camp for many trekking expeditions. The major treks passing through various mountain lakes such as Gangabal, Vishansar, Gadsar, Satsar and Kishansar has its base at Sonamarg. The trekking routes offer all types of challenges, from mild to most hard. The pleasant climate with mild summer and cold winter make this place an ideal location for trekkers to explore the natural beauty and challenging treks.

After you visit to Sonamarg, return back to Srinagar.

Day 08: – Departure Srinagar                                                                                                             

Today in time you will be transferred to Srinagar international airport to board you flight for onward destination.
